Questions people ask before they buy a new roof
01 How accurate is the estimate, really?
The satellite measurements are accurate to within a couple of square feet for most homes, and our install-cost ranges come from actual jobs completed in the last six months. You’ll typically see a spread of 10–15% — that accounts for deck repair, flashings, and anything the satellite can’t see. If we need to widen the range after a physical check, we tell you before we ask for a deposit.
02 Is the price binding?
The range you see online is a firm estimate, not a contract. Once a project manager walks the roof (usually 20 minutes, often without you needing to be home) we convert the range to a fixed written quote. If your range said $19k–$24k and the final quote comes in above that, we honor the upper bound unless you’ve asked for something extra.
03 What happens after I submit my info?
Your price range appears immediately on screen and is delivered to your inbox as a PDF. If you’re interested in learning more, a real roofing expert, not a call center, may reach out within one business day to answer questions and discuss next steps. We respect your time, protect your information, and believe in providing honest guidance.
04 What materials do you install?
We install the full Owens Corning architectural line (Duration, Duration Storm, TruDefinition) plus their luxury and designer shingles. For flat-roof sections we install TPO and modified bitumen. We’ll give you an honest recommendation for your roof’s pitch and exposure — not an upsell.
05 How long does an install take?
A typical 2,000–3,000 sq ft single-family roof takes one to two working days. Larger or complex roofs (multiple valleys, steep pitches, solar reinstalls) can take three to five. We don’t start a job we can’t finish on schedule, and we don’t leave a tarped roof overnight.
06 Do you really cover all of Oregon?
RoofPrice.ai currently provides instant roof estimates for homeowners throughout the Willamette Valley, Portland metro, and surrounding Oregon communities. Coverage continues to expand, so if your address is supported by our estimator, you’ll receive a personalized roof replacement price range in minutes.
07 Why does Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status matter?
Not every roofing contractor can offer Owens Corning’s highest levels of warranty protection. Certain extended warranties are only available when a roof is installed by an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor and registered as a complete roofing system. Depending on the warranty selected, homeowners may qualify for up to 50 years of non-prorated material coverage, workmanship protection, and transferable coverage if the home is sold. Always review the specific warranty terms available for your project.
